The Mega Stones are cool as well, and I recently learned if you defeat the Elite Four you can set up your own gym too.

The fuck is a mega stone?

It's a cultural thing, I guess. It's the equivalent of beating a high-tier gladiator champion, or something, it just sounds cool. Personally, I have Dirk's fucking Solrock and it's too high a level for it to respect me for what badges I do have, so I need some extras.

A mega stone is a rare as fuck special item that lets certain species of Pokemon do a temporary super-evolution. I don't know much about them, but it seems like I've got a few Pokemon that are capable of using one.

Allure and Lussios, at the very least. I didn't look through for yours too much, but I know Dexter, Ox and all my fish can use one too.

Allure is already broken as all hell from a battle perspective. I don't know how they could make that any worse...

Though I guess that would be some real incentive.

You might have to do some research yourself, but at the very least it improves their attacks like nobody's fucking business. If I got it for Ox he'd be as fast as a legendary and rip through metal like it's nothing.

Uhhh. I think just Olivine, Goldenrod, and Ecruteak as far as Johto goes. Kanto is just the line between the train and Lavender.

All things considered, that's a fair bit of range inside Johto. It's a roughly six hour flight from Olivine to Cianwood, unless you'd prefer to take the ferry - that's three days, but also it's a fucking ferry. I took it there last time and warped back. It's about the same from Ecruteak to Mahogany, but it's a full day from Mahogany to Blackthorn.

It's also actually faster to fly from Ecruteak to Violet, but it's nearly thirty hours or so flying to Azalea whichever way you come from. It's fucking tedious, I have to say.

The fact this place hasn't figured out actual real modes of transportation is actually infuriating every time it comes up. The warps are nice, I suppose, but the fact there's no quicker way that doesn't include them is absolute stupidity.

Gods, I thought where I came from was stupid, but we at least had fucking trains that went to more than two damn cities.

I suppose most people are more lenient in how long they want to take to get from one place to another. I'd rather not take three days to get to the next city when it's a day's flight.

I do miss trains, though. And buses. They were so fucking convenient.

I guess so. I'll take one day over three, obviously.

A kind of vehicle, obviously, like a covered wagon long enough to hold something like fifty seats. A pretty common form of mass transport in my world when something's too big for an easy walk but too small for multiple train stations.

Last I checked we were still using horse caravans and shit. But the only real civilization is the larger cities or I guess kingdoms depending on what race is in charge of the place.

Yeah. I can't imagine the cities you have are as large as the ones from my world. The one I grew up in has a population of several million. In fairness it's the capital city of my state, but still.

Mm, actually, there were a few that were close to that number.

Goldcliff immediately springs to mind, for example. But that may be the one real example of close to that number.

I feel like I should stress that the world population in mine was something close to seven billion.

Darling, we don't know the population of mine because the majority of people don't tend to stay put for very long.

Or gather in places all that often due to monsters and the like being attracted towards what they view as an easy snack. Goldcliff is literally on a cliff so it's not... an easy thing to come near.

Then there's civilizations that seem to prefer to stay underground, such as the drow out of necessity or the dwarves because they're most comfortable in those situations.
