I rather doubt an ulterior motive, but you certainly strike me as the kind of person who'll take any excuse to show off, and loves doing it. Should I be more concerned about someone challenging us, or you taking an innocent statement as challenge and making a show of it?

I'm free after five most days, and some of the boutiques around the Goldenrod department store are open pretty late. I'd get something tailored but I don't have that kind of money here, so hopefully there's something nice in my size around already.

Pfft. Don't worry about it, we'll find something whether it needs to be tailored, altered, or whatever. I don't tend to use a lot of cash in the first place and beating up on the rich seems to be a valid strategy.
