I know, at least on my own end, I tend to favor silvers when it comes to these formal events. Luckily a rather simple color to match or compliment towards. I would, however, suggest some sort of brighter or deeper rich color to go with that.

I am intensely curious who you considered to be your other options.

I don't have much of a complexion for pale colours these days, but I historically look good in really dark, rich colours. Red's a lucky colour in my culture back home, that would go really well with your silver.

Ohh, a dark and rich red, or red in general would be lovely, I think! I'm almost certain that you would stand out among the men anyway in anything remotely colorful. As, if the point remains as I think it does, the majority would be running with things like dark blue, black, gray... You know, boring ones.
